Tammy Davis Ruth is the Corporate Engagement Manager at United Way of the Lowcountry, where she leverages her extensive experience in fundraising and volunteer development to drive meaningful community impact. Hailing from the small, rural town of Hampton, SC, Tammy developed a deep love for community service at an early age, volunteering as a junior missionary through her church and participating in monthly service projects with Beta Club and Key Club throughout middle and high school.
Her passion for helping others turned into a career during a transformative college internship, where she helped raise over $17,000 for a children’s shelter, Helping Hands, Inc. of Aiken, SC. This experience ignited her love for fundraising, leading her to a successful 20-year career across nonprofit, government, and higher education sectors.
Tammy holds a Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.) in Non-Profit/Public/Organizational Management from Pace University in New York, NY, and is a proud graduate of the University of South Carolina Aiken. As a dedicated Gamecock, she proudly lives by the Carolina Creed: "Forever to thee!"
